The Private Foundation “EURIDIT – Education, Peace, Cooperation”, created in June 2022, is the new face of the non-profit association EURIDIT and aims to mark its continuity in its vision, values, objectives and activities. The Foundation aims to increase the sustainability and agility of projects and to launch new initiatives, giving greater legal strength and a more secure perspective to the former Association EURIDIT, established in Brussels in 2006.

The Private Foundation “EURIDIT – Education, Peace, Cooperation” is registered in Belgium and has its headquarters in Brussels. It aims to operate in Europe and in low-income countries outside Europe. It currently operates through its decentralized operational offices in Italy, Kosovo and Senegal.

It was strongly desired by the President of the Association EURIDIT, Dr. Giovanni Polliani, pedagogue and first President, supported with equal force by the donor of scholarships to the Lycee Limamou Laye in Senegal and accompanied by the current Vice-President Valentina Pomatto. 

The Foundation is called “private”, not because it belongs to a particular person, but because Belgian law provides for two types of foundations. The “Private Foundation” is created by a notarial deed by one or more natural or legal persons, who wish to allocate assets to the realization of a specific and disinterested purpose that they have defined. The “Public Utility Foundation” is created by royal decree to protect and promote public utility assets, such as philanthropic, religious, artistic or cultural works.
